Nepal Nepal Kathmandu

nepal in and out

OUT:

diarrhea: stupid stomach has not worked for 3 weeks...and got worse after eating in the " best and cheapest restaurant in thamel". indian food, tasted fine. but after. huh. fever, diarrhea dizzyness....sigh. tried all the things i have in my power to avoid mr. doc, but gave up today. and paid 80 dollars to know that it is just a normal travellers diarrhea. so now with antibiotics it should go away.

live music: going bed every night hearing (from somewhere close to my guest house) sweet child of mine and ironic and zombie almost every night, performed by notsogood nepalese cover band i have started not to like these songs. am sick of this band. but too lazy to move anywhere more far away as everything i need is close to the place i stay...and it is cheap.

IN:

kathmandu child care center: run by hari (nepal) and jeremy (uk), this kinda new orphanage has been the place where i like to stay in the afternoons. 4 bright eyer nepali children make me go crazy with their tricks, but i cant help loving all of them. this place is growing...this wekk they should get 2 new children. and in future, places for 20+ children. they are building a new place in the mountains. tot he same place they will build a alternative treatment/mediation center. sounds like my place huh??

tashi delek: a great tibetian restaurant. when you enter old tibetian couple is sitting in the first table, reading sudras, news paper or drinking tea and eating tibetian bread. they smile and bow and say their quiet namaste. 2 young waiters are happy to see you again and you sit on your own table. good place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. amazing vegetarian food. have to meet the cook before i go. this is my place, every day.

tea shop in pheasant lodge: my guest house. pheasant lodge. kinda quiet (expect that live music part). run by family. but on the yard a young nepali couple run a small tea shop where i get the best and cheapest tea in town.

reiki store: mr. deep and his daughter. so cute and lovely people. mr deep can talk and talk...about nepal, reiki, shiatsu...all kind of tratments, and healthy food and books and....what ever you need to know. and is always interested about your life and opinions too. and the daughter giving yoga lessons 6.30am everyday...such a sweet girl too. i enjoy their company...and so happy i met them!! if i didnt have my great reiki teacher waiting home, i would attend the second degree course here.

walking tours: small alleys, big streets, stupas, tempels, tea shops... i could just walk and walk around here everyday and always find something new. i dont need to have a destination. going for a wonder...all the time. my fave is my morning walk for yoga, with mostly locals on the streets at 6 am..cleaning, doing pujas, walking for work and opening the shops. great feeling. everybody greets with namaste and wonders what traveller girl does outside that early Smile

himalayan buddhist meditation center: everymorning 8-9am an hour with aussie guy and fellow travellers in the meditation room of this center gives good kick for the day (together with the yoga). and great books in library! and nice tea. and good energy. peace and quiet.

shopping: ok. i am materialist. i am i am. i admit. this town just has so many nice things to buy. i have avoided it quite well but counting my rupees anyway so thta before i go i can get something nice....

fatima: a bit older lady, walking on the streets selling bindis and stuff. just wanted to chat with me, not rying to sell anything, not asking for money...just chatting. huh how good it felt, as most of the street people just ask ask ask for money, for milk, for cookies, for bananas....i wish i could give everything for them all everyday...but how could i. i know their life aint easy, and they dont have any choice....or maybe they would. thousands of organizations are here to help them. sometimes begging just brings more money than attending any programs run by ngos and stuff.

rest of the people: everybody here asks how you are and are ready to help. people stop you on the streets for chats and offers tea. and i have heard out side kathmandu it is even better! and they are so beautiful too....both men and women.

holistic yoga ashram: the place where i did ayurvedic massage course. this place is so much fun. i had great lessons with 2 neplai guys, another as a teacher and the other as practise partner. i was told i am good....let's see when i practise with rest of you how good i am Smile i even got certificate. and invitation to the country side to meet family of the other guy (and learn how to milk cows and goats, as one part of the massage is called milking and i wondered if i would get any milk out of a cow Wink also tried their yoga class and it was nice too. gonna go for massage at least before i go...we have deal that i massage first and then i'll get free massage back...not bad huh???

live music: i have heard good live music too. every thursday there is a jazz night in one bar and sunday nights 4 great guys play fusio music with guitars, flutes and tabla...interesting!! (those tablas!!!!WOW)

the mountains: i always have loved the ocean. but on this trip i fell in love with mountains. kathmandu is in a valley, surrounded by mountains. now that the monsoon is starting i cant see the mountains so well but i can feel them. and i wanna go and see them better, next time. but i feel the same "mountain energy" here than i had in north thailand, laos and cambodia. i feel like maria in sound of music... lallalalaa.

many many things more...i'll tell you later.

i will be back in this country. for sure. sooner or later. to see what there is in the rest of the land. now i concentrate in my yoga, meditation and the children. next time new adventures.

until that. namaste. i'll go to tashi delek for lunch and then go for a wonder in patan, another city close to kathmandu. long walk!

Heippa, Anni-kulta! Niinpä olet siis jälleen Nepalissa. Hienoa kuulla sinusta jälleen. Jostain syystä tämä sun sivusto ei toiminut, ainakaan eilen ja vähän ihmettelin, missä vika. No, nyt sekin asia on siis korjaantunut. - No, toivottelen sinulle taas siunausta ja kaikkea hyvää matkoillasi. Jossain vaiheessa: tapaamisiin!

Sinulla tuntuu olevan todella hienoa. Olisit kyllä voinut informoida mahataudista ennemmin. Voi olla olisit sitten jo kotona. Hyvä jos antibiooteilla hoitui. Informoi kunnostasi.
